Bestiary - The Tribes of Pain

Painlord Gorrak & the Tribes of Pain

The world of Thranok is not without its dangers and many of these wander the outskirts of inhabited areas or lurk in the desolate places that people avoid when they can. These creatures are driven by hunger or greed or even the sheer pleasure they derive from causing pain and misfortune. Until recently, these monsters and beasts of the wild were largely solitary and posed little threat if one chose to avoid venturing into lands they claimed as their own. Now a new threat has surfaced in the form of Gorrak, a terrible creature bent on world domination. Wielding the magical abilities of a Master Summoner and showing an intellect that is both keen and inventive, Gorrak has set about organizing the solitary creatures of the world into a terrifying army of bloodlust, the Tribes of Pain. Naming himself Painlord, he has offered these creatures their darkest desires...power, chaos, wealth, destruction, and indeed the slavery of the known world in return for their allegiance to his banner. Gorrak himself is a terrifying creature and even the most fearless monsters shudder at his presence. He is a tall, thin creature with coal black eyes that stare out with malice from behind a mask of leathery skins that have been stitched together. Just who these skins once belonged to, or what Gorrak looks like beneath them, is a whispered mystery. Though he clothes himself simply in fetid rags and animal skins, Gorrak wears upon one of his fat claws a great ring of silver with a large emerald set into it. This is his focus and he is never without it as he fears what might happen should his chaotic band of fiends turn against him. Having discovered the location of the island from an intercepted letter meant for Karras, Gorrak is racing to the island with his strongest bodyguards to take the Shezarian Stones and use their power to ensure the lasting glory and absolute rule of the Tribes of Pain and their new Master Summoner-King!
